Colt 1860 Army revolver .44 caliber percussion with 8” barrel, factory open vine scroll style engraved with traces of original bright blue and case hardened finish and original ivory grips, serial number 165198. The metal surfaces showlight cleaning long ago and traces of original blue and case colors remain in protected areas. The metal is now aging back to a natural patina and there are some very good case hardened colors on the top and back of the recoil shield and somegood evidence of blue where protected. The barrel address is sharp, edges are fairly crisp and the engraving is well defined. There is approximately 20% light cylinder scene remaining. The trigger guard shows a mellow patina on its original silver plate which mostly remains. The back strap shows traces of original blue. The original to the period ivory grips fit impeccably and show age cracks and are most definitely the originals to this pistol. The action is good, the bore is verybright and all matching visible serial numbers. Due to the high number there may be a slight possibility of obtaining a factory letter. Est.: $5,000-$10,000
