Colt 1860 Army Richards Conversion in .44 centerfire caliber, S/N 3442. This fine Colt shows 30%-50% bright blue that has drifted with super sharp metal surfaces that are a natural light colored patina where blue was lost. The frameshows 90% plus original and fiery case colors. The grips show 90% varnish with a few mars and minor edge wear. Small parts and screws show bright fire blue. The action is crisp and the bore is bright. This Richards was made as a cartridge arm fromleft over percussion parts and preceded the single action to the Western frontier. Like the early single action high finish blue and case hardened examples are very scarce as the blue was fragile and lost easily. A stunning and rarely encountered high finish blued Richards.
