Colt 1851 Fourth Model Navy revolver., .36 cal. percussion, 7-1/2" barrel, traces of original blue and case hard, varnished wood grips, #127745 showing capping groove cut in right side of frame. The Navy shows tracesof original blue mixed with a brown patina on barrel, some scattered erosion, pinprick pitting and small areas of light cleaning long ago on the top flat. The barrel address is sharp, the edges fairly crisp, there aresome minor nicks and dents. The cylinder shows 10-30% scene with faint traces of some letters of the engagement date. The cylinder shows some light cleaning long ago and some minor pitting and erosion. The frame, lever, hammer have gone to patina with slight traces of case hardening mixed in. The grips are good with a couple of small losses, some marks at the bottom from tacking, one spot from driving a nail, but at least good. Allmatching visible serial numbers with a large 2 on frame, barrel, trigger guard and backstrap by the serial number (just a batch number). The action is good, the interior is very good and the bore bright. Est.:
