Colt 1849 Pocket Model in .31 caliber percussion with 4” barrel remaining in near fine original condition, serial number 271198. This Colt shows a one line New York barrel address with a 6 shot cylinder. Approximately 20% to 40% original bright blue remains on the barrel which is flaking and drifted areas where the finish is lost have gone to a nice light patina. The cylinder shows 70% to 80% original bright blue with a like amount of cylinder scene that is just slightly light. Theframe, loading lever and hammer show 75% to 85% bright and colorful case hardening. The straps show just a trace of silver. The revolver shows original to the period old ivory grips with some small losses at the back heel and some normalaging, cracking and deep patina. All visible serial numbers are matching. The edges are super crisp and there are just some small marks around the edge of the wedge and on the right side of the barrel. A very attractive pocket model Coltwith a lot of strong original finish. Est.: $3,000-$6,000
