A) The rifle is listed by serial number as a National Match in the summary of D.C.M. Rifle sales. The barrel is marked with "S A/flaming bomb/6-21" on the top behind the fixed front sight with a clip on hood and there is a rear ladder sight without 2,850 yard aiming notch. The bright polished bolt is unnumbered, is marked "N.S." on the top flat at the base of the bolt knob and has a headless cocking piece. Mounted on a smooth walnut pistol grip stock with two reinforcing bolts, a circled "P" proof, sling swivels and a checkered steel buttplate with trapdoor housing a nickeled brass oiler with a pull through patch holder and bore brush. With a leather claw sling.

Condition: Arsenal refurbished, 99% of the parkerized finish remains with some minor high edge wear and thinning on the floor plate. The later production replacement 0341 stock is very fine with some scattered minor scratches and a few pressure dents. The sling is very good with some wear and age cracking.
- B) Manufactured between 1924 and 1933. This version has been converted to the M2 configuration with a fixed front sight on a barrel marked "S A/flaming bomb/7-27" with two sets of drilled and tapped holes with filler screws, one just behind the barrel band and the other over the chamber area. There is a Lyman fully adjustable rear sight mounted on the right side of the receiver. The bottom of the bolt is electropenciled to match the gun. Mounted on a smooth walnut pistol grip stock with finger grooves, sling swivels and a checkered steel buttplate. The stock is marked on the grip cap area "M2" and just behind the grip cap area "D28225".
