A) This specific rifle is marked on top of the receiver ring with "byf/44", the wartime code for the Mauser factory and 44 for the year of manufacture. The receiver sidewall has the correct block "Mod. 98" markings. The top and right side of the receiver ring has a single "Eagle/135" Waffenamt proof and the left side of barrel and receiver have a single Nazi/Eagle firing proof. The rear section of the barrel also has the factory markings of "44R337", with no other markings. The barrel bands, trigger guard and floor plate are all stamped versions that are stamped with either the last four or last two digits of the serial number. This rifle is fitted with a wartime laminated stock and handguard, with the stock having a very faint Waffenamt proof below the take down washer. It is complete with the front sight hood, cleaning rod and a reproduction cross-hatched brown leather sling.

Condition: Refinished/renumbered (bolt) with 95% of a refurbished gray/green parkerized finish overall the parts, with edge and high spot wear. The stock and hand guard are both good, showing minor handling marks and light pressure dents on the underside of the forend. The stock, handguard and metal parts have all been varnished at some point with the stock having been lightly cleaned a long time ago which has now taken on a old aged look.
- B) Late WWII Nazi k98 rifle manufactured in 1944, in Czechoslovakia. Hooded blade front sight with a military and tangent rear sights with "dou/44" code and "eagle/83" Waffenamt proof on the receiver ring and "Mod 98" on the sidewall. Stamped components, with "Eagle/214" proofed, stamped trigger guard and floor plate. WWII Laminated stock and handguard with a cupped sheet metal buttplate. Complete with a brown cross-hatched leather sling.

Condition: Very good as restored/assembled with 90% of the thin partially refinished blue finish overall, with edge and high spot wear overall. The stock and handguard are both excellent, with a nice matching color overall with minimal handling marks. The leather sling is very good. The complete bolt assembly has been renumbered to match the rifle.
