A) No maker's marking, the cylinder is marked "THE SAVETY AMERICAN MODEL OF 1879", there is a "U" marked on the right rear of the barrel and a circled "S" on the front cylinder face. Post front sight, six round unfluted cylinder, ejector rod on the right side of the frame, folding trigger and fitted with smooth dark walnut grips.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 90% original nickel finish with some scattered minor flaking and some areas taking on a frosted appearance. Overall there are some scattered light scratches and minor dings. The grips are very good with a small chip at the top of each panel, otherwise a few minor dings. The cylinder marking is clear. The action is excellent.

B) Manufactured circa 1879 to 1886, the top barrel flat is marked "MARTINIER - COLLIN ST ETIENNE", the cylinder is marked with the St. Etienne provisional proof and there is a "star/D" proof on the right rear barrel flat. Simple line and floral scroll engraving on the upper rear barrel flats, cylinder, frame and back strap. Post front sight, folding trigger, six round unfluted cylinder and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips.

Condition: Very fine with 90% original nickel finish remaining. There is scattered minor flaking, heavier on the barrel and overall scattered minor dings and scratches. Minor oxidation is present on some of the exposed metal surfaces. The grips are very good with some minor bruising and dings to the otherwise crisp checkering. The engraving and markings are clear. The action is excellent.
