A) This revolver falls into the 6th and final variation of the No. 1's. Unfluted 7 shot cylinder is chambered for the .22 short rimfire. The octagon barrel is blue and is marked on the top "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIElD. MASS.". Fitted with smooth rosewood grips.

Condition: Fine, traces of the original blue finish on the barrel has browned with a smooth gray patina and some minor pin prick pitting on the balance. The cylinder has a matted brown patina with some minor pitting. The silver plated brass frame has been cleaned to an even bright appearance with some scattered minor marks. The grips show an old coat of varnish and are both fine with a 3/4 inch crack in the right grip. The action is fine.
- B) This revolver is the 6th and final variation for the No. 1 model. The 7-shot blue unfluted cylinder is chambered for .22 short rimfire and is marked with the 1855 and 1858 patent dates. The octagon barrel is blue and is marked on the top "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIElD. MASS.". Fitted with smooth rosewood grips.

Condition: Fine, 90% of the original silver finish remains on the frame which has taken on a pleasant and dark aged appearance with minor handling wear and some small areas of flaking. The barrel and cylinder have a dark aged patina. The grips are smooth and have traces of the original finish. The action is fine.
