A) This British martial pistol has several proofs stamped on the barrel at the breech with additional proofs stamped on the left stock flat and on the grip area of the stock. The pistol has no maker's marking. Brass furniture, sliding hammer safety, lanyard swivel on the butt and an iron swivel ramrod. Consignor notes state that it is a British coast guard pistol circa 1832.

Condition: Very good plus. All metal surfaces have a bright appearance showing some minor pitting (mostly on the barrel). The varnished stock is very fine with some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
- B) The lock has a large crown above "VR" stamped behind the hammer and "1860/TOWER" stamped below the bolster. The left rear of the rifled barrel is proofed. Brass furniture with a large button head swivel iron ramrod. The stock has a single barrel wedge and a replacement lanyard loop on the butt.
