Clip point Bowie knife with cutlery handle and original scabbard marked “Edward Barnes & Sons”; fancy etched blade “Americans Ask For Nothing But What Is Right and Submit to Nothing That is Wrong” with American Eagleholding Banner that reads “Ready to Defend” and “The United States, The Land of Free and The Home of the Brave and Protected by Her Noble and Brave Volunteers”. The blade shows most of the original polish with slight aging and minor erosion just starting; the blade is crisp and unsharpened; the grip is oxidized slightly. From an old collection in Auburn, CA in the heart of the Gold Country. Est.: $1,250-$2,500.
