Classic double 8-bore by Holland and Holland with underlever and exposed hammers. 26” heavy barrels, serial #12439. Fine to excellent original condition showing finely engraved signature on rib of barrels and “Winners of all field rifle trials, London”. The rib is mounted with a folding rear sight and a small bead type front sight. The left side of the action is engraved, “Charge 10 drams, case 3-1/4”. The locks also signed Holland & Holland. The barrels show 80-90% original browned and Damascus pattern finish, some slight losses at edges, some light cleaning and some areas of minor erosion. The action and frame show 90-95% fiery case colors just drifting at edges and gripping areas. The stocks are very good plus with some minor scratches, light handling marks, and carry, but at least very good overall. Bores are also very good plus to near fine showing just some slight darkening. The action is tight, the locks are good, just some minor use and carry. The wood is fitted with a leather covered original to the period English style recoil pad and shows some scuffs, mars, at the edges and the forend shows a few compression marks. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
