Classic Holland and Holland Royal grade full side lock double rifle in .450 express caliber factory marked on bottom of frame, “charge four drams and case 3 ¼ inches”. This Holland is numbered 16093 on Tang. The rifle measures 42 ½ inches over allwith 26 inch barrels and weighs approximately 8 pounds. The frame and locks are beautifully engraved in classic Holland and Holland extra fine scroll motifs with Holland and Holland name in banner on each side of frame. The Tang isreinforced and extends onto the comb and is engraved to match. The rifle shows a stocking safety and gold inlaid letters safe. The barrel rib shows a nail file type matting with 3 leaf folding rear sites graduated to 250 yards. Therifle is stocked in fine quality walnut showing a good burl grain. The barrels show about 40% to 60% original blue drifting to a patina with some scattered light to moderate erosion and surface pitting. The markings on the barrel are still very sharp and show 98 New Bond St. address along with Winner of Field Trials and etc. The frame and mounts have been lightly cleaned with some minor pitting mostly on the trigger guard and Tang but still very sharp edges and crisp engraving.
