Civil War tintype of Union soldier in uniform holding strange left-handed lock musket, also showing his rifleman's case, cap pouch and leather gear with buckles. The image measures approximately 3-1/2" x 2-3/4", is in its original hard rubber case showing a floral design; interior of case numbered in pen "291" with label from Holmes, Booth & Hayden; a cancelled 10-cent stamp on reverse indicated tax was paid. The image is in good condition with slight burning at the edges from the foil frame; the case is very good+, image also very good. It would be interesting to identify the strange musket.
