Civil War era conversion, .69 caliber musket by Remington showing Maynard tape-primer device. The gun remains in fair to good condition showing a dark brown patina, slightly light to heavy scattered pitting and erosion, the heaviest pitting occurring on the breech area of the barrel, bolster area, and lock, from firing and use. The lock markings are light but visible on the rear. The rear sight has been removed from thebarrel long ago. The butt is heavily pitted. The stocks are fair with large losses around the rear area of the lock and general wear and use. The stock is carved in old block letters “Good Will” upside-down. An oldperiod leather sling with brass buckles is included, along with a ramrod. An interesting gun with an intriguing period inscription. Est: $600 - $1,200
