Civil War carbine by Smith, Holtney, Tremble. .50 caliber breech loading, serial #19879. The carbine remains in original good to very good condition showing 10-20% original blue drifting to patina with some scattered areasof light to heavy pitting. The heavy pitting occurring on the forward 12” of the barrel and is the type associate with blood or moisture. The frame shows 30-50% toning case hardening. The release spring shows 30-50%blue. The forestock is very good plus, the buttstock is good to very good with two sharp cartouches, several small dings, mars, scratches. Traces of finish on butt, sharp markings, good edges, excellent bore. Retains all original small parts and sights. Dr. Sterling Fenn collection. Est: $800 - $1,600
