Blade front and folding leaf rear sights on a barrel marked with "V P eagle head" proofs on the left rear and the top dated "1863". The bolster has the American eagle and the lock is dated "1864" and has the American eagle and "U.S./SPRINGFIELD." Full length military stock with three "U" marked barrel bands and two cartouches on the left stock flat.

Condition: Very good. The rifle-musket has a smooth dark brown patina showing limited light pitting with some minor pitting on the buttplate. All markings and edges are crisp. The stock is fine with an old protective coat of varnish, "15" hand marked ahead of the trigger guard, some chipping along the ramrod channel and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
