The 1863 dated lock plate is marked with the eagle/shield motif over "U.S." and "PARKERS' SNOW & CO / MERIDEN, CONN." The barrel is also dated 1863 with the "V / P / eagle head" inspection and proofmarks. Iron mountings with all metal surfaces finished bright, square based blade front and three leaf rear sights, three barrel bands, bolster with clean out screw, sling swivels on the middle barrel band and front of the trigger guard, "US" stamped buttplate tang, iron ramrod with tulip head and swelled shaft, and mounted on a full stock with two faint boxed cartouches on the left flat.

Condition: Very good. The metal surfaces have been cleaned and there is some pin point pitting. The sanded and reoiled stock is fine with a few small putty filled repairs and a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
