Manufactured from 1863 to 1865. The top of the barrel is marked "NEW MODEL 1863" and the three line address, the lock is marked with the two line Sharps and Lawrence patent date markings, and the left side of the frame has traces of the Sharps patent marking. Brass blade front sight and folding leaf rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Saddle bar with ring on the left side and base marked with an inspection mark. Straight grip stock without a patch box and with a cartouche on the right side of the buttstock.

Condition: Good as refinished. The carbine retains 20% blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The receiver, breechblock, lock, lever and trigger plate retain half of the original case colors. The wood is fair with some minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically fine.
