Blade and R.S. Lawrence ladder sights on a barrel with three line Sharps address between the rear sight and barrel band and "NEW MODEL 1863" located between the rear sight and the receiver, with faint "EAW" inspector marking on left side at the breech. Removal of the forearm reveals the mismatched numbers "20852" and "c.10946" with both of these having been "X'd" through. The lock plate has the R.S. Lawrence 1859 and Sharps 1852 patent dates and left side of the receiver has the Sharps 1848 patent date. Saddle ring bar (in the white) with ring on left side. (Writer believes this to be one of the post-civil war assemblies by one of the surplus dealers such as Bannerman.)
