Manufactured by Richardson & Overman. The rear of the lock is marked with the Gallager patent date and the Richardson & Overman address over the serial number. The front sight a fixed pinched blade and the rear two leaf folding. There is a saddle ring bar and ring mounted on the left stock wrist. Stock has a patch box containing an extra percussion nipple. The Gallager saw extensive service during the Civil War including cavalry units from Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Condition: Good. The carbine has a mottled gray patina over pin point pitting with crisp markings on lock plate. The stock is also good with some minor dings, pressure dents, and a hairline crack present near the buttplate tang and the letters "TB" period carved on left side. Mechanically fine.
