Approximately 23,000 of these revolvers were manufactured in the late 1850s and early 1860s, most of them for the government. There are small "K" and "H" inspection marks on most of the components with "STARR. ARMS. Co. NEW. YORK." address stamped on left side of frame and "STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15, 1856" on the right side of the frame. Serial numbers match on barrel lug, cylinder, hammer well, and hammer. Fitted with a smooth one piece walnut grip stamped with a clear oval cartouche on the sides.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 70% bright original high polish blue finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The hammer and trigger retain 60% faded original case colors. The grip is fine with a few notches on the bottom edge and some minor handling marks overall. The cartouches are clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
