The lot features a porcupine quilled parfleche knife sheath with 19th Century Buffalo Skinner trade fighting knife. The sheath is attributed to the Cheyenne Native American Indians of the Great Lakes Region. The sheath shows the porcupine quillwork with mineral pigment of yellow and red with some wear and having four rolled tin jingle cone dangles. Parfleche with a rawhide sewn outer edge is what the sheath construction shows along with being accented by a polychrome painted design in green and yellow. The trade knife shows a hardwood set of grips secured to the forged like skinner blade and spine with six iron rivet/tacks. The sheath measures 7.75"L x 3"W. The knife is 10"L. The knife dates to circa 1880.
