Chinese made SKS semi-automatic rifle, serial number 7055469 with Chinese Arsenal markings and stock numbered 55469. The bayonet has been removed and the condition is good to very good overall with some minor pitting and erosion and marks inthe wood from use. The action is good and the bore is good. An original inscribed brass plaque with red painted letters is affixed to right side of the stock with by six small nails and reads “Presented to Mr. Bob Hope in appreciation forsupport of the U.S. forces during operation Holly, by Lt. Gen. R. E. Cushman, Jr., USMC, Cg, III Marine Amphibious Force, Danang, Vietnam-24 December 1968”. A very significant and important presentation to the Vietnam era service member’sfavorite performer who showed his courage to publicly and actively support the troops when Hollywood largely turned negative. A certificate of authenticity stating that this exact rifle is from the estate of legendary performer Bob Hope is included. Consigned directly from the Hope Family Trust. Est.: $600-$1200
