Chiefs grade treaty rifle by J. Henry & Son showing U.S. stamp behind trigger guard along with American Eagle patch box. In .50 caliber with 35” heavy octagon barrel measuring 1” across the flats of muzzle, iron mounts and remaining in original very good condition. Both the lock and barrel are clearly stamped J. Henry & Son. The metal remains in good to very good condition with a pleasing patina showing considerable original finish mixed in. The edges are sharp and there is only some minor beginning pinprick pitting and slight aging. The rifle retains a V notch rear sight and a large blade front sight. The stock is also very good plus showing just some minor scratches and mars. There is some slight pitting on the butt plate but metal is generally crisp overall with a good action and a good bore. This is a very exceptional treaty rifle due to its large bore and size along with American Eagle patch box which has the number 23 stamped on the inside of the door. Est.: $3,000-$6,000.
