The lot features a very rare Cheyenne Native American Indian beaded tipi occasional bag miniature from the early 1900’s. This circa 1900-1940’s piece would have been sold to tourist from the Reservation and shows the shape and design of the larger tipi occasional bags. The front shows all glass trade seed beads in Cheyenne pink, greasy yellow, black and light blue in a linear geometric pattern. Provenance: From the private family collection of Sarah Alling of Helena, Montana. The family collection of Sarah Alling, a 5th Generation Montanan, began in the 19th Century and has grown since. Along with being an avid collector herself, Sarah co-founded with Bruce VanLandingham Sundog Fine Art of Bozeman, Montana which was both part museum and gallery. The bag measures 3 1/2" at the widest by 2" tall with 1 1/2" long tassels.
