This Autographed Dated June 27, 1914 On Chicago White Sox Letterhead 7.1x8 Letter has been Personally Signed by Charles Comiskey of the Chicago White Sox. This item is 100% Authentic to include a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) / hologram by JSA. The authenticity can be verified on JSA website. This letter to team scout George Mills, who was dispatched to Baltimore to evaluate a young pitcher named Babe Ruth just 10 days prior. The Sox were riding a seven-game winning streak that brought them back up to the.500 mark and Comiskey was looking to improve the team further, asking for an opinion on (Buck) Thrasher and (Cliff) Markle from the Norfolk team. Both players eventually saw time in the bigs but neither ever played for the White Sox. The letter carries a bold, clean fountain pen signature of "Chas. A. Comisky" with remnants of another letter glued on the back.
