Chaffee-Reese Model 1882 U.S. Magazine rifle, .45-70 cal., 28” barrel, blue finish, two barrel bands, wood stock, #NVSN in overall un-cleaned good condition showing plum blue finish under scattered surface erosion and rust spots from long storage; very good bore, crisp action, good markings, wood stock is overall good with several cracks at the top of the wrist and scattered mars, scratches and dings from carry and storage; visible circle P proof; “J G” stamped on lower tang; front screw of lower tang missing; iron ramrod retained. From an old estate. Hard to find in any condition as only approx. 753 manufactured by Springfield Armory in 1884. (Antique). Est.: $350-$700.
