The lot features two original authentic Central Plains Native American Indian Beaded Awl Cases from circa 1890. Both cases show an Indian tanned hide construction with excellent glass trade seed beadwork. The beadwork shows lavender, semi-transparent amber, semi-transparent blue, green chalk white, sky blue, and semi-transparent red. Neither shows the original awl present, but both are wonderful original examples from circa 1890. Provenance: From the personal collection of renowned collector and foremost expert on war clubs and tomahawks, Mark Francis. The Francis collection piece has been authenticated and is truly a museum quality artifacts. Larger Awl case measures 8.5"L with flap down and 12.5"L with flap open. Smaller awl case is 5.75"L.
