Central European possibly Swiss broadsword comprised of period elements with original blade in the style of the late 16th to early 17th century. The sword measures 47” overall with a 37 ½” blade measuring nearly 2” wide at widest partnear hilt. The blade shows large blood groove running 28” down the blade from the hilt. The blade is well forged showing some pitting and a slight reduction in length. The hilt is nicely made and also forged and is a good match to thepommel but not quite exact for the period. The grip shows an old re-wrap and the pommel nut probably a Victorian era association of old original parts. A good looking sword that is a genuine antique though associated. Est.:$900-$1800
