Cased pair of percussion dueler/target pistols, .50 cal., 8” octagon barrels, engraved lock plates and hammers, damascus finished barrels, fluted wood stocks, Belgian proofed in the French style. This unmarkedpair are in overall very good condition showing considerable damascus pattern to barrels with some spots of erosion and pitting primarily at the muzzles, crisp actions, good bores, tasteful engraving, very good wood stocks. The original case is lined with a ball compartment, blonde wood cleaning rod and mallet, small brass powder flask and wood handled screwdriver (not originally from this set); missing ironbullet mold; exterior of this case is very good with some scattered mars and scratches, missing escutcheon to lock and key. The exterior of the case is select hardwood, probably rosewood; in very good condition. Agood mid-19th century set. Est.: $2,500-$5,000.
