Cased pair of center hammer Flintlock pistols with spring bayonets and constructed of brass in original to the period contoured case lined in velveteen. The pair are signed “Patrick Liverpool” and would date to late18th or early 19th century. The pair measure 10-1/2” overall with bayonets extended. The barrels measure 2-7/8” and are approx 45 cal false rifled. The pair remains in very good condition and show somelight polishing. The grips are very good with some small marks, normal aging. One bayonet is stamped with a “D.L.” maker’s type mark. Both bayonets spring and lock well. There is a silver plaque in each wristinscribed with fancy initials “J.B.” The interior of the case shows some fading, fraying and normal aging. A small block which lifted each bayonet is missing from each compartment. A correct size mold andflask are included along with a key and flints. The exterior of the case is good with an age type crack, some minor scratches and normal wear. Cased pairs of pistols with bayonets are rare as we have only seen only
