Manufactured from 1878 to 1892. The barrel rib has the standard two line address/patent dates marking. Matching serial number on the butt and cylinder with mismatched barrel and un-numbered latch. Pinned nickel blade front sight and notch rear sight on the latch. Blue finish with casehardened hammer and trigger. The rare red mottled bird head grips are checkered and feature the S&W monogram at the top. The factory wooden case has a S&W directions label on the inside of the lid.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 90% original blue finish beginning to thin along exposed edges. The hammer retains vivid and bright case colors. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering and a very attractive color scheme. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some minor handling marks, some wear on the lining and most of the paper label remaining.
