Early production manufactured in 1876. These revolvers feature light scroll engraving on the barrel, cylinder, and frame, with a simple line and dot design on the top strap and back strap. All nickel finish with gold plated cylinder and side plate. Two line address on top of the barrel with crosses at each end, with a simple double line border around the address and front sight, "COLT NEW .32" in an etched panel on the left side and "32CAL" on the left side of the frame below the cylinder. The complete matching serial number marked on the underside of the barrel and left side of the frame under the grip, with the partial serial number "926" on the rear cylinder face, as well as the letter "J". Blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with smooth pearl grips. Colt manufactured 22,000 of this model from 1873 to 1884. Complete in a wooden case with red velvet lining, fitted for both revolvers and lidded compartments on two corners with ivory handles.

Condition: Excellent. The barrel and frame retain 98% of the original nickel finish with some wear on the muzzle. The cylinder retains 90% of the gold finish with some thinning and minor pitting on the front edge. The side plate retains 99% of the gold finish. The grips are near excellent with a few minor chips and a couple of minor cracks on the left panel, otherwise minor handling marks. The markings and engraving remains clear and crisp. The action is fine. The case is very fine with the exception of some minor dings and scratches and the short minor crack in the inside of the lid and the latch. The prongs on the lid latch are broken off. The interior lining is excellent.

B) Manufactured in 1876. Same finish and engraving designs and grips as "A". Two line address on top of the barrel, "COLT NEW 22" etched panel on the left side of the barrel and "22 CAL" on the left side of the frame below the cylinder. Matching serial number on the butt, rear cylinder face and bottom of the barrel.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains approximately 90% of the original nickel finish with flaking on the barrel and edges of the frame. The cylinder retains 95% of the gold plating and the side plate retains 90% thinning gold plating. The grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks. The markings and engraving are clear and crisp. The action is fine.
