This shotgun was manufactured in 1980 as one of 500 shotguns produced to commemorate the Mallard duck. The barrels have two white bead sights, are choked modified/full and have 2 3/4 inch chambers with ejectors. The French gray receiver has nearly full coverage floral scroll engraving with two ducks coming in for a landing inlaid in gold on both sides. There are also two gold inlaid ducks on the underside along with "AMERICAN MALLARD ANAS PLATYRHYNCHOS/162 OF 500" gold inlaid in a banner. The trigger guard has the bust of a mallard inlaid in gold. Mounted on a beautifully figured, multi-point checkered walnut forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with a checkered bare butt. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches. With a hardwood case lined in red velvet.
