Cased Engraved Miniature Copy of a Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver with Silver Finish and C
Made by Carl Schleef, this miniature features floral scroll engraving on the rear portion and muzzle of the barrel, sides of the ramrod, frame and trigger guard. The hammer is engraved with a mythical wolf headed winged serpent motif. The top barrel flat is marked "-ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY-" in a scallop border panel, the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS / PATENT" and the cylinder is roll engraved with the Texas naval battle scene. The number "1" is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, backstrap and cylinder. All silver finish and fitted with a one piece ivory grip with relief carved Mexican eagle on the left side. Complete in a locking wooden case with royal blue velvet lining, a brass two cavity bullet mold with "COLT'S / PATENT" marked metal sprue and powder flask.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 90% silver finish with some spotting on the cylinder and areas that are beginning to darken with age. The grips are also excellent with an attractive grain patina. Clear engraving and markings. The case is excellent with some contact wear on the lining. The accessories are excellent.
