Left side of the frame and loading lever are marked "W. TRANTER'S PATENT". Light floral scroll engraving on the frame, barrel breech, buttcap, and trigger guard, with a band of engraving at the muzzle. The cylinder has British proofs stamped at the rear between the chambers. The right side of the frame has a safety that when deployed stops the cylinder from rotating when the trigger is pulled. Fitted with a checkered one-piece grip with a silver initial plaque on the left side with initials "AHS". Complete with a partitioned wooden case lined with green felt. The following accessories are included: Joyce percussion cap tin, oiler, ramrod, Dixon & Sons powder flask, nipple wrench, and two cavity bullet mold.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel, frame and trigger guard retain 85% original high polished blue finish with the balance a smooth silver-gray patina. The loading lever, buttcap and cylinder have a smooth gray patina with flashes of original case colors remaining. The grip is excellent with a few minor handling marks. Overall the checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent. The relined case is good with some minor dings and scratches, along with a crack on a lid short end. The lining shows some minor wear and a hinge is losing a screw.
