Cased Colt Model 1862 percussion revolver, .36 cal., 5-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, iron straps, wood grips, #289. This gun is in overall very good condition showing an even grey patina onmetal surfaces with some slight traces of case colors on the hammer and frame; all matching visible serial numbers, worn but distinguishable inscription on the backstrap “G.C. Jones” and initials “G.C.J.” on buttstrap; crisp action and markings, fair to good bore, very good grips; period wood case is in overall good to very good condition showing scattered mars and some staining on outside; majority of rose/brown originallining remains with usual wear from gun; brass eagle powder flask, iron bullet mold; Union Metallic Cartridge Co. cap tin, iron screwdriver and loose lead balls; a nice cased ’62 Police with case and accessories;inscription may be researchable; from an old collection.
