This lot includes a set of Twelve sequential lithograph prints by the famous Swedish born artist - Carl Oscar Borg. These prints explore the turn-of-events that lead to the discovery and settlement of California. Carl Oscar Borg, an emigrant of the United States, fell in love with California and the American West in the first quarter of the 20th century, and was quickly found to be one of the main representatives in showcasing the American West to the World. His original paintings can be found in international art museums, the Library of Congress, American and Swedish Universities, and the list doesn't end there. These prints were commissioned by Westways Magazine in 1931, as a cover art series. The prints in this series have since been used as marketing, and diplomatic tools by groups like "Automobile Club of Southern California", and the Sante Fe Railroad. Overall, these prints are in very good condition. Each print measures 20" x 18" and features a 2" border.
