Cadet or Boys percussion musket in military style by A. Francotte of Liege, Belgium. .56 caliber smoothbore, 28” barrel, 41-1/4” overall. Brass mounts, diminutive features, with original bayonet and remaining in verygood plus to near fine condition. The lock is well marked as is the left side of the breech and the sideplate and buttstock are stamped “Horgen”. The musket shows “AF” along with crown and “H” proofs. The metalsurfaces show some slight finish with some slight cleaning, some pitting around the firing area of the nipple. Stock is very good plus with a few minor scratches, dings, just minor normal aging and imperfections. Thestock measures 11” from the trigger to the end of the butt. The butt measures 3-3/4” from tip to tip. The bayonet is the socket type definitely made for this small arm and the bayonet measures 13-1/4” with 11-1/2”blade. Also original ramrod is included. An unusual scarce mid-19th century musket made for military style, probably for cadet, by one of Europe’s most famous makers. Est: $1,250 - $2,500
