Ca. 1950's Navajo Turquoise Red Coral Kachina Bolo
For your consideration is a circa 1950s Navajo Bolo Tie in impressive large size having a Kachina in Sterling Silver set with Turquoise and Coral and signed "P.S.C.". The bolo tie features a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver, red branch coral, and Stone Mountain turquoise construction. The bolo shows a central pendant that is very large and shows a Kachina with arms down in the traditional fashion. There is intricate attention to detail with twisted rope decoration throughout the pendant; the eyes are constructed from ox blood red branch coral cabochons and there are two of them, with the head of the Kachina and the garment decorated with two large oval cut Stone Mountain turquoise cabochons with a striking brown matrix and light blue coloration. The aglets of the bolo tie show a tooled and stamped design with hanging decoration of two small Kachinas. The back of the bolo tie is marked as follows: P.S.C. - Bennett Pat. Pend. The condition of this bolo tie is good with some slight patina to the sterling silver and some wear to the braided leather of the tie but otherwise shows good overall condition. The measurement of this bolo tie from tip to tip is 19" and the pendant measures 3.5L" x 1.5"W" x .75"D. Collective weight is 64.8 gms.
