PISTOL. Cal. 38 Spl. MR. S# 7252-MR. Bbl. 5" w/ Colt cal. marking plus "MK III". Mfg. 1971 at very end of 1960-1971 production; approx. 8,000 units. Designed for wadcutter bullets seated flush w/ case mouth used in bullseye match competition; only competitor was custom pistols plus S&W Model 52. Basic National Match configuration w/ special bbl., breech face & extractor. Serrated frame controls, front strap & flat mainspring housing. Elliason rear sight & Patridge front on finely grooved raised matte slide rib. Lowered ejection port (not flared like on 45's) plus rounded hammer face for reduced energy cocking during firing, proprietary ringed chamber, polished feed ramp w/ integral bbl. guide & throated bbl. Much hand fitting to include Commander length bbl. bushing, bullet nosed spring guide & match grade release of skeletonized NM wide trigger. Nicely figured, fully checkered factory grips w/ gold medallions. MAGS: 4 TOTAL factory 5 rd. mags. w/ push button bases (1 w/ noticeably worn finish & scratched "2245" plus "2"). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: near excellent black nylon range pouch w/ pistol compartment & separate area for 4 mags. CONDITION: overall appearance is about near excellent. Very faint thinning on high points at front of slide & top corners of rear sight blade. Left side of slide has couple of very faint scratches including from improper handling of slide stop installation (also on frame). Near excellent bore & grips.
