REVOLVER. Cal. 44. S# 63223. Bbl. 8". Model 1860 Army single action percussion revolver mfg. by Colt in 1862. Top of bbl. exhibits (mostly illegible) Colt's single line address. Left side of frame is stamped "COLTS/ PATENT". Iron backstrap with slot for stock attachment. Brass trigger guard with 1-piece smooth wood grip. Matching numbers are present on the frame, bbl., and trigger guard. Rear grip strap appears to match, with the majority of the S# being illegible. Bbl. wedge is unnumbered. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a gray patina, with pitting and dark discoloration overall. Brass trigger guard exhibits a mellow patina, with scattered spots of darker discoloration. Dark pitted bore, exhibiting good rifling throughout. Grip exhibits scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (01-24486/MLW).
