Featured in this lot is this collection of 6 vintage fishing reels through the years 1950-1980s, from various companies. The first reel in this collection is the Abumatic 170C from Abu-Garcia Reels, a Swedish company, who produced the reel between 1965 and 1980. The reel features a a ball bearing drive system and power torque retrieve. It features colors of black and red and bears the Swedish coat of arms front and center. The reel spins easy and freely with no signs of damage present. The reel measures 5" L x 4 1/4" W x 3" H. The second reel in this collection appears to be an A.F.I. Wasp Reel made in Japan. The reel features a red spool and black finish on the rest of the reel. There are no makers marks present. The reel is in working order as the spool spins easy and freely with no signs of damage present. The reel measures 5" L x 4 1/2" W x 4 3/4" H. The third reel in this collection is a 1950s Shakespeare Ball Bearing 2200 fishing reel. William Shakespeare reels were made by one of the earliest companies of the now classic reel makers and was founded by William Shakespeare, Jr. in 1897. This reel features the company name and the model name on the side in silver lettering with a picture of the ball bearing next to it. The reel has a black finish and shows some wear from its vintage age. The reel is in working order as the spool spins freely and easy and has a gear ratio of 4.7:1. This is the smallest of all the reels in this collection measuring 4 1/4" L x 4 1/2" W x 4" H. The fourth reel in this lot is an Eagle Claw 8035 Graphite Spool reel from Wright & McGill Eagle Claw Reels. The company was founded and started in the late 1920s by two Denver, Colorado men, Drew McGill and Stan Wright. The reel features a retrieve that can be used for right and left handed people and a gear ratio of 3.7:1. The spool reads, "Eagle Claw Graphite Spool 8035" in red and tan lettering. The reel is in good condition overall with the spool moving freely and no signs of obvious damage present. The reel measures 5" L x 5" W x 4 1/2" H. The fifth reel in this collection is from Ocean City and was called the Bay City reel, made around the late 1940s and early 1950s, it was Ocean City's best selling saltwater reel for many years. The reel features a black finish and ivory colored handle and has the brand and the model name next to the handle reading, "Ocean City MFG Co. Bay City Made In The U.S.A.". The reel is in working order and shows wear from its vintage age and use, but overall good condition. The reel measures 4" L x 5" W x 3 1/4" H. The final reel in this collection is from Ocean City as well and is the 922C True Temper model. The 922C True Temper model was sold between 1951 and at least 1958. True temper continued this model for many years after 1959 with their markings. The 922 was a 200 yard reel and had small changes during its life span. It features an ivory colored handle and black finish to the rest of the reel with the company name and model name next to the handle reading, "922C Ocean City True Temper U.S.A.". The reel works and spins and shows good condition overall with some wear from its vintage age and use. The reel measures 4 3/4" L x 5 1/2" W x 3" H.
