C. 1930-1950's Santo Domingo Pottery Dough Bowl
The lot features an excellent Santo Domingo Pueblo Native American Indian pottery polychrome painted dough bowl dating to circa 1930-1950's. The piece shows a nice large size showing a classic pottery dough bowl shape with red, cream and black geometric polychrome painting in classic Santo Domingo Pueblo pattern. The bottom shows a museum collection tag marked "C-106" and is not signed, typical of earlier pieces. The bowl has two pierced holes on opposite sides near the rim purposely placed by the maker to hold some type of strand. The piece is in well preserved condition with no obvious signs of damage, cracks, major damages, or chips with nice all present paint. Measures overall 9" diameter by 4 5/8"H.
