The lot features an Indian Reservation era spontoon pipe tomahawk from the Plains Indians of the early to mid 1900's. The piece exhibits a cast spontoon pipe tomahawk head showing a classic blade with median ridge running down both sides and under-curled basal processes. The blade is inlaid on both sides with a weeping heart and double spot with brass. The eyelet hole is diamond shaped showing heavy moldings, chevron pipe base and tall thin pipe bowl with four filed molded ridges. The head has a dark coloring and is paired with a diamond shaped wood haft. The haft appears to be original to the piece but its age cannot be confirmed. Showing a hot file burned pattern with a tapered diamond beveled wood with pierced hole below the gripping area and brass covered metal tacking at the head. Overall measures 23"L with the head being 10.25"L.
