The name Bull is written in togia on this rifle, along with a few other messages. Bull was a Blackfoot and grew to be a great warrior joining the John Grass Band of Sihasapa Blackfoot. Sitting Bull made a treaty with the Metis to obtain weapons to fight the white settlers. It is believed he obtained this gun during those trades and used it in the Battle of Little Bighorn. Bull followed Crazy Horse into Canada after the battle and later surrendered, eventually settling on the Standing Rock Reservation on the Grand River.
