British Royal Navy Issue Mk II Webley Double Action Revolver, #49629, .45 ACP cal., 4" barrel, blued finish, black plastic grips, blade front sight and fixed "U"-notched rear sight. Marked on left-side frame "WEBLEY/MARK II/PATENTS". Left-side barrel strap marked with Birmingham proof stamps and a War Dept. "Broad Arrow" ownership mark. Royal Navy issue "N" is stamped on rear of frame, and another "Broad Arrow" has been engraved into the top of the barrel strap. Matching numbers on frame, barrel, and (partially) on edge of cylinder. Revolver has been converted to .45 ACP cal. by shaving the rear of the cylinder and can be loaded using full or half-moon clips. Condition overall is very good with the metal retaining approx. 85% finish, now mostly muted, with areas of patina and darkening. Grips are good showing overall wear and flattening to the checkering. Action locks up, cycles, and ejects smoothly; bore has darkening in the grooves and may clean better with very good rifling; chambers have scattered dark spots, otherwise bright. London export proofs are stamped on right side of barrel. Est.: $500-$700. (C&R/PPT)
