Bonanza lot of artwork from the basement of R.E. Petersen’s Beverly Hills Mansion: 1. Original oil on canvas signed lower right John Deil; darling rabbit scene, 23” x 19-1/2” not including frame, early 20thcentury, good frame, some age but very good, name “Joyce” on back (possibly dealer). 2. Original oil on board of Ducks signed Larry Tor Chik, 26” x 19”, well-known Arizona artist. 3. Wood block print, 3 sectiontriptech showing Imperial Japanese soldier killing Samurai; good condition, signed, measures 13-3/4” x 27-1/2”. 4. Original oil painting on canvas, badly damaged missing paint, tag reads Robert Cleminson, approx.16-1/4” x 24-1/2”, older auction stickers (1982-83) on reverse A-0217, probably Sotherby’s or Butterfield’s, original to period frame, born 1830. This 19th century artist was among the best British sportingartists of his time. Petersen was going to restore it but never found “the right” restorer. A great Lot.
