Bobby Diane (Lindsay Lohan ) Plaid 1960’s Dress
This dress was worn by the character Diane, portrayed by actress Lindsay Lohan in the 2006 Biopic film “Bobby”. The plaid day dress was designed by Julie Weiss and custom made specifically for Ms. Lohan. The garment is constructed out of a lavender, cream, pink, and green plaid acetate material with spaghetti straps.
This dress was Ms. Lohan’s 3rd costume change in the film and worn during her wedding to William (Elijah Wood) and near the end of the film where Robert F. Kennedy aka Bobby, gives his acceptance speech for winning the 1968 election for U.S. Senator. The dress is most prominently seen in the aftermath of the shooting of Senator Kennedy, where William was hit in the head by a stray bullet. Lohan holds his bleeding head in her lap during the chaotic aftermath of the assassination of Bobby Kennedy.

“Bobby” was written and directed by actor Emilio Estevez, who also played the character Tim. Estevez wrangled an all-star cast to portray the people who experienced the hours leading up to and the assassination of Robert F Kennedy at the Ambassador Hotel in Hollywood California. The cast included his father Martin Sheen, Harry Belafonte, Anthony Hopkins, William H. Macy, Sharon Stone, Demi Moore, Shia Lebouf, Ashton Kutcher, and Lindsey Lohan. The film was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Motion Picture Drama.
This garment is in good screen worn condition with minor evidence of wear from its use on the production and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from costume house who provided the dress for the production.
