Featured in this lot is this well cast, Boardman Warranted pewter teapot made by Thomas Danforth Boardman circa 1820-30s. T.D. Boardman and his brother Sherman opened a pewter and silver company near the Connecticut River in Hartford, Connecticut, in 1798. The Boardman brand gained recognition for its outstanding craftsmanship and quality. The piece shows a black handle and a hinged top to open and close. the bottom is marked with the iconic Boardman Eagle mark and reads, "Boardman Warranted" below and above the mark it is stamped reading, "No. 9 / X". The mark has faded and worn away from its age and use over the years but is still slightly visible. The teapot shows good condition overall with slight wear present, but no signs of major damage is noted. It measures 9 7/8" L x 6" W x 7 1/8" H and weighs 1 pound and 12 ounces.
